Green Power Nueva Ecija Groundbreaking
Ceremony at San Leonardo
The groundbreaking ceremony for Green Power Nueva Ecija Philippines Inc. ("GPNEPI") biomass power plant took place today the 16th December 2009. The GPNEPI power plant is to be built on land acquired by the company in San Leonardo, Luzon island, Philippines. GPNEPI will initially deliver 17.5 MW (expandable to 35 MW) of clean, green, renewable energy helping alleviate the power shortages within the Luzon grid.
The project has received tremendous support from the Catholic Church, the Governments of the United Kingdom and Finland, the Philippine Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, Department of the Environment and Natural Resources and National Philippine Government.
The event was attended by key, Church, Government and Corporate dignitaries including:
